Obsidian template
Songcards has an official Obsidian v2 template for anyone who wants to draft or archive songs as plain Markdown alongside their Songcards library.
It's ordinary Markdown
The template is a plain .md file with a defined set of headings and fields — nothing proprietary, nothing that requires Obsidian specifically to read.
Obsidian is optional
You can fill in the template in any text editor. Obsidian is a convenient place to do it — vaults, linking, and search — but it is not required.
No Obsidian plugin required
Songcards does not need an Obsidian plugin installed to work with the template. Import and export happen from inside Songcards itself.
Filling in the template
Each section of the template maps to a section of a Songcard: song identity, creative record, Suno recipe, and release/credits/rights. Fill in what you know — empty fields are fine.
Importing into Songcards
Use Backup & data → Import Obsidian Markdown, then choose your filled-in template file. Songcards reads it into a new Songcard.
Exporting back to Markdown
Any Songcard can be exported back to the same template format, so your archive stays readable outside Songcards too.
