Install Songcards

Songcards 0.0.7 is an invitation-only pre-beta for Windows. This page explains the installer, why Windows may warn you about it, and how to verify what you received.

Invited testers receive their download link directly by email. There is no public download on this website.

Why the installer is unsigned

This pre-beta build has not been through a paid code-signing process yet. That is expected at this stage — it does not by itself mean anything is wrong with the file. Because the installer is unsigned, Windows SmartScreen will show a warning the first time you run it.

What Windows SmartScreen will show

You will likely see a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen. This is the expected, standard warning for any unsigned Windows installer — not specific to Songcards.

Installation steps

    Download from your invitation email

    Use the link sent directly to you. Do not use a link from any other source.

    Verify the filename and checksum

    Confirm the file is named exactly Songcards_0.0.7_x64-setup-UNSIGNED.exe and matches the SHA-256 value below before running it.

    Run the installer

    Double-click the file. Windows SmartScreen will appear — this is expected for an unsigned build.

    Choose "More info" then "Run anyway"

    This proceeds with installation. Only do this for a file you verified in step 2.

  5. 5

    Follow the setup wizard

    Accept the default install location unless you have a specific reason to change it.

  6. 6

    Launch Songcards

    Open the app from the Start menu. See the quick start guide for your first Songcard.

Verify what you received

Before running the installer, check that its SHA-256 checksum matches the value below exactly.

A clean antivirus scan reduces risk but does not guarantee safety. Verifying the filename and checksum above matters regardless of scan results.

Uninstalling

Open Windows Settings → Apps → installed apps, find Songcards, and choose Uninstall. Your Songcard library is stored separately from the application — uninstalling the app does not delete your data, but you should still create a backup before any major change.
